Saw this short version this morning and man just can"t wait for the full length now. So good to see this short film become a movie now. Just finished watching "CODE 8" for the 2nd time today. Once with the Better Half, to get her reaction, and gotta say Well pleased. She liked it, thought it was interesting take on the ordinary people with Abilities format. She"s a OG Heroes fan and into some of the MU Series" and thought it stood up well against them, so Praise Indeed ! I myself was already a Fan from the Short and I was watching the second time alone for things missed on 1st Viewing - Not to find shit to bitch about, that"s not my game - well except for the MU stuff & the Cross-overs ! I digress - as usual. I"m an Hot/cold fan of the Black Lightning Netflix Show, but in Code 8 I recognise the importance making the Movie version had for everyone involved in the Project, ad I found the End Product of all that blood, sweat & tears (mostly Sweat & Tears as is usually the case with trying to get your Vision realised ! I worked for a Chernobyl Charity and S&T were shed A Lot for that Vision - so I recognise. The Short was Good, the Movie Very Good - within the constraints of Budget Time - Unlimited Budget would"ve helped with the Story Line, Script - more for getting a bit further Under the Skins of Characters - like the Cop, how the Bar and Garage were Exclusive to "Power People" some of the Bad Guys - Motivation especially with the reason Conor"s Dad left and done the Robbery - was it to do, like Conor, with the Mum"s Illness and That really needed Explained ! Was it Symptomatic to Power People or just the Mum"s Power, or Pwr Peep trying to submerge the Powe, to be Normal. Then Who got Powers? Were they Random? Limited to Pwr Parents? Did the Male Pwr get passed on if 2 Pwr Peeps got together? Or were the Pwrs from the Genes of the Pwer Person in a Pwr/Normal couple? There"s So Much Story needs told and that"s why I would love to see the Movie as a Prequel to a TV. Series. A Scene Settr Answering, not just My Questions. Then an Overarching Storyline with 1 Character"s Story per Episode (a la Heroes I suppose. Do 50mins with the Ad Breaks you"d be into the 1hr Total Time right? Do 10 Episodes per Season to keep the Show & Folks involved Fresh. Season 2 could be the Cops. The Special Pwr Peep Squad for taking down Pwr Peeps and doing the Drug Busts. (Could have a Pwr Peeps Blood with Adrenaline Drug that Normls could buy to get Temp Powers specific to who/what they need them for. A Hit gives a Norm 6hrs Pwr - but a Pwr Peep can get 12 hrs and a Powr Hit-person, could be Mind reader, uses Brawn to get inside to get a Target, use Electric to do Break ins to do a Hit a Target. Or Telekinetic to get a Target to Crash a car, lep off a roof etc You could have Back History of when the Armed Forces and Cops Used Pwr Peep originally, until the Old Crook Politician - you could call him Dan Flump or Donny Blubber - your Choice! Which nicely rounds off my Comment - I"d really love to see some Humour used - it"s a dark, heavy Story already - so Some Humour is almost a Requisite. And that was BH"s other dislike - if that could be called that. a Distinct Lack of Humour that it really needed to counter the Darkness of the film overall. That"s a problem, but That"s Why you needed a cpl or 3 script writers from TV shows that had a bit of comedic lift to lighten the mood. Even though the Subject is quite heavy. Apart from that, I found the Movie better than the 10min Short version - which I Really liked and enjoyed watching with other people and getting their reaction, which was - very impressed and is there Any More ? So, really glad you all got to make a Good Film from your humble, but really very good, Short Film. And I"ll be watching this Space for News of your Next Mini-blockbuster, Feature Film or Netflix, AMC HBO, Amazon Prime, Series. Addendum; BBC and FILM4 (A Very Good Film making arm of C4 (Channel 4 TV Station) in the UK are always looking for next / Torchwood (BBC- player App) HUMANS (AMC/C4-on C4 app) RTE -Ireland (Film Productions) Game Of Thrones -Northern Ireland Screen(I think) Filmed Titanic Studios & Location. 1 of our daughters was in it - claim to fame. VIKINGS - FILMS All Over Ireland and Canada. And Sons Of Anarchy was filmed in Belfast and the Cast drank in another daughter"s Bar 1 of the exceptionals. No TV, Live music & places for sit-downs both sides 1side with/Reporters\with the other side & cops in between the Poets, Writers and songsters all life -under 1 roof. Laid bare I At the John Hewitt - Cathedral Qtr Star Wars received accolades for the Tourist numbers to the Wild West of to seethe Hermitage Rocks -out to sea ! So there"s plenty who want to host Film Production and help out with Finance, Locations Etc Hope to see, either the continued Story of the Power People or a different Story - but with the "Power" of your imaginations and your srong belief in whatever your next topic may be. Vale sim o ingresso, muito mais que várias produções bem badaladas por ai. Me surpreendeu as atuações dos atores, bem convincentes por sinal, incorporando suas dinâmicas na trama que em determinados momentos não sentimos a falta de orçamento. Filme bem objetivo, sintético realmente, mas que vale uma boa pipoca no mais velho estilo sessão da tarde.
